The principal and the most fundamental venture to pick while guest blogging, is to provide for some hot and mindful title for your blog post. The title of your blog post must have some firm words, and might as well make all readers insane, after perusing the title itself!

Actually, make your article a fascinating and taking in experience for your readers. Incorporate pertinent jokes, cite extremely popular individuals, and make inquiries, use feelings and so forth. And you can utilize loads of variables to make your substance constraining for your readers. Evolution of Blogging

Although the term ‘blogging’ was not introduced until much later, the concept of blogging runs as early on in the history as 1980’s when Usenet was the major medium for uploading information on the internet. That was basically largely used for newsgroup purposes. Later on people started – at large – to keep an online diaries where they uploaded all that was going on in their daily lives. That was the concept from where blogging actually evolved.

The First Steps named ‘Blogging’
These personal and news blogs started expanding into business blogs, book-club discussions, travel blogs, employment blogs, etc. over the years. This expansion of blogging was greatly beneficial to the internet users as well as the unemployed people who now started seeing the prospect of jobs and income using this new medium that was called blogging. In those days blogging was basically about manually updating information that was already given on websites. This practice was adopted to make it easier for the less technical population of the time when internet was not as widely used as it is now, to help them keep in touch with all happening in their areas of interest in an organized, reverse chronological order.

Easing into present-day Blogging of 2013
As time passed, more and more areas of life started grasping the idea of using blogs to their own purposes. Politicians started blogging for opinion-based research to get the feel of their voting population. In fact blogging gained so much population that some popular bloggers even moved to media like radio and television to seize their fame when invited. Blogs even came out to be important news sources.

Blogging Today
In the present age of 2013, blogging is vastly an amalgamation of all it was in the years before and more. It has been building up on the foundation of the 20th century and increasing its area of use. Blogging today is not restricted to certain topics or purposes like keeping a diary, or publishing news, etc. Today, in 2013, blogs are seen to be business escapades, interest-based discussions, products reviews, celebrity celebration, social gatherings, educational get-togethers, musical sharing, and the list goes on. It’s not necessary that an author will make her own blog, for instance, because even a die-hard fan could know so much about what’s going on with the author that he himself makes a blog in the author’s name and gives out all the updates of the latest releases and the reviews of books, etc. and if he is a real book-lover he might even keep a blog to give information on every one of his favorite writers.

Shining Bloggers
In 2013, surveys have shown the increased use of blogging and the great deal of bloggers out there who are now using these blogs for virtually every purpose they can think of. Today, the internet is a vastly used entity in almost every part of the world. Life without it is almost impossible to fathom. And making a website seems like too much of a task when, instead, there is a much temptingly easy task of keeping a blog which is, both, easy as well as convenient for the blogger and the audience alike.

Boost Your Blogger Readership

Starting a blog is an exciting venture. Whether you’re doing it to help promote your business or just as a personal enrichment activity, it’s your chance to broadcast your ideas to the world. But, as excited as you are about your posts, it will take some time before you build up a significant reader base that is also excited about your posts.
Here are eleven easy tips you can utilize to help boost your blog readership from the beginning of your online writing adventure. Follow these tactics and you’re likely to see a boost in stats in the days and weeks that follow.

1. Network

Get involved in the blogging community and network with other bloggers. If they start to mention your blog in their posts, their readers will be intrigued and will check out your blog. There are forums and special events that you can participate in to meet with the other bloggers. You can also network by reaching out to other bloggers whose blogs you respect.

2. Promote it in your email signature

Think of your email signature as a digital business card. This is where you can provide your contacts with your pertinent contact information. By including your blog URL in your signature, those who you communicate with will have easy, instant access to your site.

3. Add to forum signatures

Online forums are another fantastic place to promote your blog. There are forums about every subject, so it will be easy for you to find one or more with people who have similar interests to what are discussed in your blog. By adding it to your forum signature, your blog URL will appear in every thread in which you post. It’s a subtle way to gain readers and will look less self-promoting than just adding posts that are asking people to read your blog.

4. Give something valuable for free

No, you are not going to loose money in the process. Something valuable could be in the form of an eBook, a report, audio file, screencast etc that you made. You can offer this as a bonus to users who subscribe to your blog. This technique is usually used with an email signup tied to an autoresponder.

5. Build a landing page for subscribers

This option can go really well with the “giving something away for free” option. You can build a squeeze page whose soul purpose is to convert the visitor into a reader by giving them something valuable for free then you drive traffic to this landing page.

6. Engage your readers by encouraging commenting

It’s not only important to gain new readers but also to ensure that they will keep visiting your blog. That’s why it’s important to get them engaged. One way to engage your readers is to pose questions to them; ask them for their opinions, advice and experiences as they relate to your blog post. After all, who doesn’t love to provide others with their advice and opinions?!

7. Put it on business cards

Business cards are inexpensive and easy to have made. Business people have been publishing their website information on their business cards for years, so why not include information about a blog? Even if your blog isn’t connected directly to a business, you can have business cards made with your blog information.

8. Submit your URL to search engines

Search engines don’t automatically detect every single website that is ever created. Sometimes you need to speed up the cataloging process by submitting your URL to the search engines. The popular engines often will have a “submit” link that you can utilize to add your blog. Keep in mind, just because you submit your URL doesn’t mean it’s going to appear on the first page of results. Nonetheless, getting your blog listed with Google, Yahoo, and the likes, is a great first step.

9. Utilize tags

Once you have your blog listed with the search engines, tags will help ensure that it appears more frequently in search results. With each posting, pick three to five main subjects to tag. The tags that are often most searched are people’s names.

10. Set up an RSS feed

Readers who utilize your feed will easily be able to access your new posts as they are published. This is a great tool to retain your current readership! If you use WordPress as your blogging platform then you get this by default.

11. Make it easy to subscribe

Offer an email subscription option as well as the RSS subscription. Some readers just like the good old email subscription method. Make sure the subscription option is easily visible to your site’s visitors (some people have a tendency to go out of their way to make it hard to find).
I am sure I haven’t covered all the easy ways to boost your blog readership techniques so please feel free to share your tips in the comment area below.

Post Good Content to get more Backlinks

We all know the old song and dance about how content is king, but what does it mean? Does it mean Google just loves content? Well yes but largely because they rely on great content to attract links naturally, giving honest, trustworthy signals of value. So obviously you want some of those signals to say that your site is the man. Not to mention having link worthy content is something every site wants for the traffic, for the ranking benefits and for the credibility. All of these things help make a site stand apart from the competition. So what exactly are the secrets of creating content that attracts links?

Research

The first step to figuring out what you can do that might get links is to see what’s out there that already IS getting them. There are a few key places to look in your quest:
Competitors - Find the best performing content on your competitors’ sites. Some of it may be impossible to replicate, but other efforts may inspire you with strategies you can use on your own site.
Top Bloggers and Information Sites - When you find relevant blogs or popular resource sites you can look at all of the posts, questions and other leads that give you an indicator of what people have gladly linked to. Then you can then take those assets to the next level.
Tools - Keyword tools are extremely helpful in figuring out what long-tail phrases and questions people may be asking related to your site. You can use that information to write articles or build info graphics that address those well searched topics.
When you take the time to analyze what performs well, you can improve your odds of hitting your mark. You can’t give people what they want if you have no idea what that is.

Titles

Writing great titles is an important part of having content that gets links. There’s no secret formula to writing titles but there are a few things which are just good practices
Match the Subject - Sometimes its fun to mislead people with some title like “Clown Cars for Everybody” which actually leads to a post about the history of the Mini-Cooper. Yeah it makes sense and all but it’s not really what people were looking for when they clicked on it. It’s better to be straightforward about what you’re presenting so that you can keep the readers you do get.
Cute is Good, Searchable is Better - Taking a cue from the last point, while it’s great to write clever titles that will intrigue people, like “The Deep, Dark secrets of the One-eyed Jack”  which is a tutorial on Black Jack, but is anyone EVER going to search for that combination of words if they aren’t directly looking for your article? Probably not.  However, “Learn to Play Black Jack like a Pro” has a much better chance of being returned in a search by someone looking to “learn to play black jack”. Except Online gambling is super competitive, so that niche takes a ton of work.
Buzzwords Still Work - You know how everybody likes to slap words like “guaranteed” and “new and improved” on everything? Well that’s because it works. Certain words like “Free”, “Quick” and “Best” still grab people’s attention. It seems commercial and over done, I know. But they do work so don’t neglect them.

Promotion

You can create all the content you want, and it can be amazing, but if no one ever sees it, it’s not going to do you much good. Promoting your content well is almost as important as making it great. The problem is that getting your content in front of people is one of the hardest parts of getting links. Fortunately there are a few ways to make it happen.
  • Make contacts – Your contacts and network are crucial to getting people to look at your content and consider linking to it or sharing it in other ways. You can spend time making contacts by
    • Contributing to popular blogs in your niche
    • Sending individual emails to webmasters with relevant sites
    • Trying to get into weekly or monthly “round ups”
    • Talking to local press
    • Collaborating with charities and not-for-profits
Obviously there are many more ways to expand your contact base, but the point is the more people you can build relationships with the more of a platform you will have to distribute your content.
  • Social Networking – Social media is one of the better ways to build your network of contacts. But make sure you use it well. Interact with others, re-tweet other people’s content and make some completely non-promotional updates and/or Tweets. Humanity drives social networking, not automation. By being personal and interactive you can gain friends and allies.  Just make sure your stream isn’t limited to sales pitches and self-promotion, or you will only bore and alienate people.
  • Authority – Making your company an authority in your field is another highly valuable part of attracting links. When you are a recognized leader in your industry your content will be considered more credible. When other’s reference you as an expert it builds up your brand name and increase your visibility. Making in-roads and establishing collaborations with other giants in your space is one of the best ways to use other people’s authority to build up your own.
Attracting links is a huge part of the life of a website, but in the vast landscape of the internet, it’s a huge challenge. The content that you add to your site can be the make or break factor in how many links you are able to procure. But when you research your content ideas, write the titles to gain the most search traction and promote your best content in the right ways, you can get the links you need. Resource development is an on-going part of maintaining a website and one that will always remain vital. But when you master the finer point of content creation and promotion, your site can become a link magnet.
