While 2013 seems to be a year of the coming and going of smartphones, tablets have kept a low profile this year as compared to 2012 which was marked by the launch of several excellent tablets. Nevertheless, 2013 has seen the launch of some excellent tablets. Here’s a look at what there is in the market for potential tablet buyers.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z

After the success of it’s smartphone, Sony has launched it’s Xperia Z tablet. Bringing a similar design, attributes and hardware, it is 10.1 inch tablet device. The 8.1 megapixel camera and a front facer of 2.2 megapixel. There is also a data variant with 3G and 4G support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a smaller version of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, just lighter, thinner and more portable than the latter. The processor used in Samsung Galaxy 8.0 is Samsung’s Exynos 4412 quad-core chip clocked at 1.6GHz with 2GB of RAM and a Mali-400MP quad-core GPU.

Connectivity include the full range of Wi-Fi cababilities, GPS, Bluetooth, infrared, microUSB and MHL. There is also a 3G and 4G LTE capable version and the Note 8.0 can also be used with a SIM card for making and receiving calls or texts.
